Big Kids In A Big Sandbox

This weekend, for Easter, we went to the Sand Dunes. We went with my cousins Chris & Jenny, Adam & Erin and a bunch of their friends and family. We got down there Friday night and as we were pulling up Jer's hitch came off his truck. The whole thing came unwelded from the bed and fell on the ground. Not a great way to start the weekend, but we are soooo lucky it didn't come off on the freeway. That would have been disasterous!!

We did a lot of riding on Saturday and it was a lot of fun!! I rode with Jer the whole day and didn't even get on my bike once. I really need to learn how to ride the thing so I'm not so scared to be on it, but it just seeemed like we didn't have time this weekend because we were with other people, riding, the whole day. And we had to go find someone with a welder to weld Jer's hitch back on. Here are a few pics of our weekend. I didn't take many for some reason.

Lunch With Friends

On Friday, I got together with my friends from the U. We all went through the Master's Degree program together and we try to all get together and have lunch every couple months. This is Josh, Me, Erin, Heidi, and baby Mia. Nicole couldn't make it, like usual, and we are beginning to feel like we are not good enough for her - haha. jk.

Death to Mrs. Wootton

So I was reminded the other day of a pleasant student I once had (that is an exaggeration!!) and a pleasant experience I had with him. So three years later, the other teachers in my school still remember and brought it up. I finally had got over the event and raised my self-esteem. haha jk. Can I say I have never been more hated by a student ever in my life and I hope I never am hated that much again.

One day a student said this particular student was drawing evil pictures of me. So I confronted him and he denied - of course. I told him I wanted the picture and after some threats (haha - jk) I got it from him. It is the funniest picture ever and after being reminded of it, I dug it out of my "box." Let me explain. There is a helicopter in the sky with me hanging, from a noose. On the ground below me is a pond with a "hungry alligator" looking up at me. Over to the side is my wonderful, loving student. He is holding a gun, aiming it at me, going to shoot the noose so I fall to the hungry alligator, to my death. Seriously the funniest picture ever and to give him some credit, it was really well thought out. Here is it's debut...

Obert Skye

Last week, our school had Obert Skye, the author of the Leven Thumps series, visit our school. He did an assembly during the day and signed books and lots of other things for the students during our Literacy Night. The teachers stay during Lit night and work in one of the many rooms either playing games or helping guest speakers. I was able to be the one to help out Obert Skye. It was a neat experience to be around a famous author! He was a really nice guy and all the kids loved getting things signed - well I got all my books signed too. haha. And I took a T-shirt that I was suppose to give to the kids - but in my defense I did ask and he said I could keep it. haha

Cousin's Birthday

This weekend was my cousin Cade's birthday party. We went to his house on Sat night for his birthday party. It was fun to hang out with friends and family and to meet new people. Most of my pictures didn't turn out very good, but here are a few.

Aunt Linda, me, Jenny, Cute Baily, Heather, Janelle - well, were all cute, but I'll give an extra "cute" to Baily.

Me and my aunt Kelly

My aunt Linda kicked butt at Guitar Hero. This is a picture of her beating Jeramie! She actually beat all the guys! I believe that officially gives her bragging rights!

This is at our family's birthday party for my cousin Cade. It is Baily and my cousin Payton.
Here is Jeramie with Bailey. Wouldn't he be a cute dad? : )

My Wrist

So, my wrist has been bothering me for about 6 weeks. My doctor had me wear a wrist brace, then a thumb brace - but neither worked. So I had to go see a specialist and he gave me a cortizone shot. They think I have tendonitis but it's not just like everyone else's tendonitis symptoms so they really aren't sure. Those who don't know, I get light headed really easily and I HATE shots. I feel like a little kid but I dont care! So he came in to give it to me and I asked to lay down so I didn't pass out. If you look at your wrist on the insides there is a bone that sticks out. He put the shot into the bone! It hurts a little up from the bone on an indent part of my wrist, but he said...and I quote..."I know it hurts you here (the indent) but I'm going to put the shot into the bone here (and points to the bone) because that is where it hurts most people." Um???Hello? Is it just me or is that the dumbest thing you have ever heard? So, anyways, I have to wear a new brace for two more months...Did I mention I already wore it over one month? So over three months total and it is a pain in the ass.

One more story about it. I was in the faculty room, at work (these are teachers - just so you feel good about the education of your children) and a teacher is talking to me about how she had this same thing before and she has had carpal tunnel. Then another teacher asked, "what is wrong?" She probably wasn't listening so I kindly said, "tendonitis." Here is the kicker...then she said, "oh, is it in your wrist or your elbow?" Um...here's your sign? haha. Look at the pic and see if you can tell if it is in my wrist or my elbow. hahaha. Reminder - yes, this was a teacher.

At least my nails look good!

My Mom Is 50!!

So this weekend, my step-dad John threw a party for my mom for her 50th Birthday! We went to Embassy Suites where he rented a banquet room and we surprised her. It was a lot of fun to hang out with my family and family friends! I also got to see and catch up with some of my family that I haven't seen for over a year! It was a lot of fun! Here are some pics...

So Much To Talk About!!!

HAIR CUT

So, I have had quite the busy weekend! Lots to blog about - ok, I am officially addicted! First, I got my hair cut. My hair was really annoying last week, so I chopped it off...that's what happens if you piss me off - you get cut off. hahaha JUST KIDDIN!! So here is a pic. Pretty short, but I like it. And here is a fun sketch. I like this effect.

SCIENCE FAIR

Next, I wanted to say that Jordan School District Science Fair was this weekend and I sent four kids from my class and three won a first place and are going on to the State Science Fair at BYU. Pretty cool...huh? I'm just bragging about what a good teacher I am...haha. I'll take whatever chance I can get to brag!

STUDENT TEACHER

So, as most of you know, I have a student teacher this year. Her name is Cassie. She is sooooo good! She is an excellent teacher already and she doesn't even have a class yet! I can see from her teaching that she will be wonderful. So, I am trying to get her to start a blog...she said "Maybe." So I am calling out for help...will you guys help me convince her? You can leave a comment and tell her how much fun it is...haha. She can't turn us all down, can she? Here is a picture. It is my boss, A horrible picture of me (but the only one I have with her), and Cassie. Help me talk her into starting a blog!!
